Switzerland has been defined as a neutral state by the 1815 Congress of Vienna and is synonymous with stability and financial strength, as they secure their currency through large quantities of gold.
There are two different types of the 20 Swiss Francs coins. The first version shows the diadem is labeled "LIBERTAS", crowned head of the Goddess of Liberty, with the inscription „CONFEDERATIO HELVETICA“.
The reverse shows a five-pointed star on the Swiss cross on a plain coat of arms, surrounded by a wreath. On either side of the shield is the face value 20 FR below the date stamp. The letter B confirms it was minted in Bern, and appears below the rim. This design was minted from up to 1886 and including 1896. The name Helvetia once stood for the entire nation and its people. Julius Caesar conquered the Helvetii in 58 BC. for the Roman Empire. The name remained until the beginning of the 19th century, and connected with the people and the region. In fact, the country was renamed during Napoleon's reign over the region in 1798 as Helvetic Republic. After Napoleon was defeated, the Congress of Vienna recognized the independence of Switzerland. Since then, Switzerland has behaved neutral in relation to foreign wars.
