The 25th Anniversary 1 troy ounce silver Maple Leaf is 38mm in diameter and 3.15 mm thick. The reverse side features the Walter Ott maple leaf design that has become the signature of the coin series, although was enhanced specially for the occasion; the numerals "25" are delicately interlaced. The traditional inscriptions of CANADA and the .9999 purity on either side of the motif indicate the country of origin and the silver content, reinforced by the inscription "Fine Silver 1 oz. Argent Pur," meaning French for Pure Silver. The obverse features the third Maple Leaf portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, created by Susanna Blunt in 2003, together with the Constitutional monarch's name, the minting year 2013 and the face value of the coin, name $5CAD – although the coins are worth much more in the current bullion market.
