Each coin features the image of a Kangaroo with the year, weight and fineness of the gold on the front. The 2018 gold Kangaroo coin features an image of two Kangaroos hopping together, with the sun in the background.
The reverse of the coin features the image of Queen Elizabeth II with the coin's face value of 100 Australian Dollars at the bottom.
Coins are sold in a plastic capsule.
The Australian Kangaroo is available in both gold and in silver. In 2018, due to high demand, the Kangaroo was also released in platinum.
