Asahi Refining is a Japanese based precious metals refining company, that has been in the business of refining and assaying precious metals for over 200 years. The company specializes is refining precious metals for industrial purposes. Asahi is a relative newcomer to the retail precious metals market. In 2015, the Japanese Refining company purchased Johnson Matthey, who was headquartered in Salt Lake City Utah, and took over their refining business. At this stage they also began to manufacture gold and silver bars for retail investors. Today Asahi is the largest refining company in North America. Its bars are new to the precious metals market, but they are quickly gaining popularity among investors in North America and Asia.
Asahi Silver Bars
Asahi produces gold and silver bars predominantly in ounce denominations, although they do make a 1 kg silver bar for the European market. Silver bars are available in 1 ounce, 10 ounce, 100 ounce and 1 kilogram denominations. The smaller sized, 1 ounce and 10 ounce bars are minted, and each bar comes sealed in plastic. Each bar features the Asahi logo at the top, with the bar's weight, fineness and serial number below. Asahi is one of the few precious metals refineries to produce a 1 ounce silver bar with a serial number. The reverse of each bar features a repeating Asahi logo pattern. The 1 Ounce Asahi silver bar is a available in sheets of 20 pieces, and the 10 ounce bars come individually sealed.
The Asahi 1 kilo silver bar and 100 oz silver bar are both poured, and then stamped. This gives them a different appearance to the minted bars, but the silver content is the same. The top of each bar features the Asahi logo, with the bars weight and fineness. At the bottom of the bar is the serial number.
These bars, and in particular the 100 oz silver bar, are the most popular silver bar with precious metals investors looking to place larger amounts of money into silver bars or silver bullion. These bars carry a very low premium over the silver spot price, and as a result investors who wish to place larger amounts of money into silver will regularly choose the 100 oz Asahi silver bar over a 1 ounce of 100 gram silver bar.
Asahi silver bars are available for VAT-free Swiss vault storage, or for worldwide delivery. Bars that are stored with SwissBullion.ch can be sold back at any time.
